Here's a sneak peek of a pattern I'm working on. I'm not sure about the colours yet... I keep trying different colour combinations, I want it to feel christmasy but still to be colourful :)

Snowmen fun

This year I'm getting a little early into the Christmas spirit. I'm designing some patterns for the tigerprint competition and I'm designing Christmas cards for friends and family as well. I love Christmas!!! 

Tea time with the octopus

Tables and chairs

I designed this pattern for this week's spoonflower competition: tables and chairs.  I was inspired by interior design magazines photo shoots. They always have beautiful flower arrangements on tables and beautiful pieces of furniture as well. I added some birds and butterflies too, because I love to have animals in my patterns. OMG - I won!

Oh I'm sooo excited! I won the tigerprint cute character competition, yay!... I've never won anything before - not that I can remember- and it means a lot to me because it's something I did from scratch with my own hands and with lots of love (and maybe some tears). 

These are the other entries I submited for the contest, I was a little sad that they weren't shorlisted but everything turned out well :) yay!

IF- Radio

I haven't done anything for IF for ages - so I'm back with the very cool topic of radio.

I've been meaning to draw a dancing animal for ages and today I finally did it! Yay... I even did an animated gif just because I really like doing gifs. 

Birds pattern

So, here's the last submission I did for the Summer School for the intermediate brief. The theme was feathers and the first thought I had was birds. I sketched lots of birds but I couldn't think of how to put the pattern together, what other elements to add or how to make birds look cute... so I had a crisis for about 2 days where the only thing I did was worry about the deadline and feel sad about my lack of inspiration...  

I must confess I put the pattern together at the last minute - maybe the pressure with the deadline help me get myself together?- I chose a different colour palette than the one they provided because I felt this one fitted well with my pattern and my mood at the moment.

I quite like it, it looks nice as a wallpaper. I wish I owned a house to try it out :) What do you think? Do you think it works well as a wallpaper? or is it to bright? Working as an interior designer has taught me that people like their houses beige and grey... or is it only in Hong Kong?

This is a complementary pattern I did using the same birds but less elements - it looks more minimalistic, obviously!- but I prefer a pattern full of elements to look at and to discover everytime you look at it. 

I hope you like this post. I like to read and visit blogs that tell stories and I thought I'd do that with my blog.
