I've been very busy this week working in my MATS home decor class plus a book that I only had time to do this lil cat for colour collective. I wish I could sleep like a cat, 15 -20 hours per day... Have a nice weekend :)

Cats
It's been a little quiet around here, I know. I've been working on some things and also I was having a bit of a creative block. I'm good now though, with lots of ideas... Thanks to my lovely cats! - They're very high-tech and have their own Instagram account (here) in case you want to see what they're up to.

Elephant and egg
Here's a little elephant holding her easter egg for the daily doodle group. How much chocolate do you think is in that egg? I'd say enough for a week!

I have a new mini collection in my Society6 shop featuring cats (of course!) It's called Hola Gatos, which means Hello Cats in english and you can buy mugs, art prints, pillows, tote bags, etc. I hope you like it! Here's the link to my shop where you can have a look to this collection and to other designs available.

The letter F
The lunar new year is in a month's time and around here there're lots of red decorations everywhere. I think it's an auspicious colour for the Chinese, but I'm not sure so don't take my word for it. It's going to be the year of the sheep, though, not the year of the cat. I wish there was a year of the cat - they have the year of the tiger but you will agree with me that cats and tigers are very different. Anyway, here's a flowery cat for the letter F, a theme proposed by the guys of daily doodle on twitter.

Day 6 - Advent Calendar
A little cat skiing for today's advent. I'm wearing as many layers as the cat at the mo. I wasn't made to resist the cold.

Cake
Here, have some cake! Hope you don't mind having cat hair in your piece :). I did this piece for Daily Doodle.
Illustration Friday- Retro
I saw a picture of a cat sleeping inside a tv on pinterest, so there's where I got my idea for today's illustration. This one was made with collage and coloured pencils.

Illustration Friday - Space
For this illustration I decided I was going to use acrylic paint and coloured pencils. I like the unique textures and bold colours you get working with these materials. The problem with working by hand is that I always have trouble deciding on a colour palette. When working digitally that's not a problem because you can change the colours very easily but with paint the first thing you need to know is the colour palette, so this was a little out of my comfort zone but at the end I think it was worth it. I keep learning with every illustration and I'm quite pleased with the end result.

Having and Ice-cream
I've been having fun imagining what the cat and the bear would be doing and how they'd be enjoying their friendship. Here they are sharing and ice-cream at the park...

Illustration Friday - Prehistoric
Here's a tyrannosaurus who loves very much its teddy bear. I've never before taken an interest in dinosaurs, but now I quite like drawing them. It was fun to imagine they could be cute as well as ferocious. What is your take on dinosaurs?

The Bear and the Cat
I've been reading a book called "unlikely friendships" about animals from different species that become friends. One of the stories is about a cat and a bear in a German zoo who have been friends for over 10 years. I think that's a very nice story, and it has inspired me to do some illustrations. This is the first in a small series, that I'll be doing over the next few days - or weeks maybe?-. They're called Muschi the cat and Mausschen the bear, in case you want to check their story.
Have a nice weekend!

Illustration Friday - Disguise
This cat wanted some new friends, so don't worry, he's not planing on eating the chicks. Besides the hen is too busy to notice a new addition to the family :)

Cats in circles
Here's another drawing I did with my iPad. The app I used for this one is called brushes3 and the cool thing about it, is that it creates a time-lapse video of the process of drawing the illustration. Unfortunately I don't know how to export the video, does any body knows how to do it?
