For this illustration I decided I was going to use acrylic paint and coloured pencils. I like the unique textures and bold colours you get working with these materials. The problem with working by hand is that I always have trouble deciding on a colour palette. When working digitally that's not a problem because you can change the colours very easily but with paint the first thing you need to know is the colour palette, so this was a little out of my comfort zone but at the end I think it was worth it. I keep learning with every illustration and I'm quite pleased with the end result.

Having and Ice-cream
I've been having fun imagining what the cat and the bear would be doing and how they'd be enjoying their friendship. Here they are sharing and ice-cream at the park...

Illustration Friday - Prehistoric
Here's a tyrannosaurus who loves very much its teddy bear. I've never before taken an interest in dinosaurs, but now I quite like drawing them. It was fun to imagine they could be cute as well as ferocious. What is your take on dinosaurs?

The Bear and the Cat
I've been reading a book called "unlikely friendships" about animals from different species that become friends. One of the stories is about a cat and a bear in a German zoo who have been friends for over 10 years. I think that's a very nice story, and it has inspired me to do some illustrations. This is the first in a small series, that I'll be doing over the next few days - or weeks maybe?-. They're called Muschi the cat and Mausschen the bear, in case you want to check their story.
Have a nice weekend!

Illustration Friday - Exotic
Here's a happy fox with an exotic hat galloping around. I decided that I need to work more on designing backgrounds for my illustrations. That's waaaay out of my comfort zone, as so far, most of my drawings don't have one, I really hope it gets easier with time. Anyway, hope you're having a nice week. Thanks for stopping by!

Ramcito matemático
I did this ram for my husband's website (it's something about maths, you can see it here) however he liked better other drawing I did a while ago. I think my drawings have improve a lot since I did that one, but he prefers the old one.
Lately I've been seeing lots of illustrations by Lydia Monks and I just love how she mixes pictures of textures into her illustrations, so that's what I did for the ram's jumper.
